With Senate Republicans’ latest effort to repeal the ACA seemingly stalled — leaving health insurance for millions of people up in the air — GOP lawmakers are turning to gimmicks like introducing a “single-payer system” amendment. Democrats and health care advocates aren’t falling for it, though. Meanwhile, the White House and Republican allies in Congress are threatening entire states that are represented by Senators who plan to vote against the giant mystery that is Trumpcare.

Donald Trump’s tweets declaring a ban on transgender people serving in the military made waves yesterday, shocking millions of Americans, members of the armed services, and policymakers alike. Despite what he may think though, presidential tweets aren’t actually official orders. Nevertheless, it’s time to start debating the legality of such a ban.
