Responding to a New York Times op-ed written by an alleged saboteur within the White House, President Trump Tweeted out “Treason?” and called it a “gutless editorial.”

“We have somebody in what I call the failing New York Times talking about how he’s part of the resistance within the Trump administration,” POTUS told the media during a meeting with county sheriffs from around the nation.

Mocking the media and joking about being re-elected in 2020, Trump said, “Someday when I’m not president, which hopefully will be in about six-and-a-half years from now, The New York Times and CNN and all of these phony media outlets will be out of business … because there’ll be nothing to write.”

Trump also took the opportunity to remind the media of all the positive economic news they could cover instead of hit pieces written by unnamed sources.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also responded to the piece on Twitter, saying, “This coward should do the right thing and resign.”
