Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton managed to respectfully handle a troll, brush off an insult and then use it to highlight a much more serious issue.

Clinton on Thursday noted that many on the right who expressed outrage over Samantha Bee calling Ivanka Trump a “feckless cunt” said nothing when Ted Nugent used the same word to describe Hillary Clinton.

A rando on Twitter chimed in:

Such a nasty nasty word. If anyone could be the "C" word it could only be Hillary! I don't remember anyone making fun of Chelsea while she was 'The First Daughter ' and there was a huge amount of subject matter. Probably the ugliest child to have ever been in the WH!

Normally, a comment like this might go unnoticed ― except Clinton spotted the tweet and replied:

Hi Cameron- 1) It shouldn’t be used to describe anyone, including my wonderful mother. 2) For decades, people, often older men, have called me ugly, a donkey, a dog. I’m far more upset thousands of Americans died in Puerto Rico post-Maria because we failed them. Blessings to you. https://t.co/vEVy9GuBmp

She was referring to a new report that finds more than 4,600 people died in Puerto Rico as a result of last year’s Hurricane Maria.

That number is more than 70 times higher than the official death toll of 64.
