(CNN)French police arrested 148 people as fans clashed with riot police on the Champs-Élysées following Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League final defeat by Bayern Munich on Sunday.

The arrests were made for “damage, violence or throwing projectiles,” Paris police said Monday, adding that more than 400 people were issued with a penalty for failing to wear a mask.
